Our Shirts for Sea World

My two best friends from college decided that we should get together with all the kids and go to Sea World in San Diego. At some time in the planning process, I offered to make shirts, only I had no idea as to how I was going to make them. Thank God for YouTube. :)

I made 6 kids shirts, complete with their first names on the front and a dolphin design on the back. The grown-ups also had shirts but we only had the design on the back. It was really nice to be able to spot who was in our group. Kids, especially toddlers, run fast.


This is the planning stage. I was trying to figure out the placement of the images and the names before I ironed on the fabric to the t-shirt.

I think making the shirts have been the most fun so far. It was really cool when people would stop you and ask where you got the shirts, and I got to respond that I made them. I say not bad for a Newbie!

Playing with the Cuttlebug & Cricut Cartridges

I made a little gift bag, envelope, and card for a friend's bridal shower.

Her wedding colors are grey, ivory, and peach....so that's what I used. I had fun playing around with everything. I hope she likes it (and doesn't see this post before Saturday). :)

I made these coasters for a MOPS tea we were having. It was an excuse to play around.

And I made this graduation card for Mead's nephew.

I also made another card for a friend's recent engagement, but again, I didn't take a picture. I have learned my lesson. I will take a picture (even with my iPhone). I'd rather have the memory regardless of the quality. I'm not a professional, just a mom. :)





One of my first projects using my Cricut Expression

 

I made this Mother's Day card for my Mom. It was the second project I made using my new toy. The very first project I made was another card but I never took pictures of it. Oh well.

I think I just got bit by a bug...

A crafting bug that this! Yup, you read that right. I am currently into crafting. All kinds of crafting: scrapbooks, cards, designing t-shirts, etc. Who knew I was so creative? :)

I knew that I've always wanted to craft but I never really put forth the effort. Over the years I have saved a lot of mementos and pictures just waiting to be put into scrapbooks. Ask my husband...he knows I've only made ONE scrapbook and that was for him on our very first anniversary. And he continues to ask why I have been saving all this stuff. I have been saving it until now!

I recently purchased a Cricut Expression (the 5th anniversary edition) and a Cuttlebug. I've made several items so far and I was thinking about how I can share my projects with my friends and family. I figured everyone else has a blog, so why not me? It could be fun! I'm not the best writer nor creative mind but I think this blogging adventure will be a fun way to document whatever I'm into at whatever stage in my life. So, let's see where life takes me.
